All our plates are sustainably-made in India using only naturally fallen Areca Palm Leaves that are then cleaned and steam pressed into shape. No chemicals are used whatsoever, and each plate naturally biodegrades in fewer than 2 months after disposal - just like any dried leaf in your yard.
